Miller completes LSU Graduate School of Banking

Jason Miller, Community President at FNBC for Fulton County, has recently completed the Graduate School of Banking program at Louisiana State University (LSU). He is among the 205 bankers receiving graduation diplomas on June 3, 2016.

This three-year program provides courses covering all aspects of banking, economics and related subjects. Students traveled from 23 states and Mexico to participate in this session.

The Graduate School of Banking program at LSU is held every spring on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. More than 15,000 executives have completed the program. Sponsored by 15 Southern state bankers’ associations in cooperation with the Division of Continuing Education at LSU, the banking school requires attendance on campus for three years, with extensive bank study assignments between sessions. The faculty consists of bankers, business and professional leaders, and educators from all parts of the U.S.

“I think the knowledge I have gained through the graduate program at LSU will help to better my professional experience and to ultimately help me serve as a stronger community banker,” Miller said. “This educational opportunity has been a great experience.”

During their three years at the Graduate School of Banking, students receive 180 hours of classroom instruction, thirty hours of reviews, planned evening study, and written final examinations at the end of each session.

Miller has been working with FNBC since September 2003, when he began working for Investment Professionals, Inc., the bank’s financial investment arm. He joined FNBC as a commercial lender in 2009, and was promoted to Community President for the Salem and Mammoth Spring offices in Fulton County in March 2015.

In addition to completing the LSU Graduate School of Banking program, Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Finance and Computer Information Systems from the University of Central Arkansas. He is also a graduate of Salem High School.

Miller and his wife, Kelly, live in Camp with their three children: Gabe, 14, Madalyn, 11, and Elijah, 8.
