Total Solar Eclipse 2024

 In General

Most of our service area is within the path of totality for the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. State officials in Arkansas and Missouri are projecting an influx of visitors to view this event. FNBC wants you to be prepared with the following tips:

  • All FNBC lobbies will close from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on Monday, April 8, the day of the eclipse. Our iBanker Live Tellers will be available normal hours of 7 am to 7 pm to serve you.
  • Plan to do your banking early. We recommend keeping cash on hand in case point-of-sale systems and ATMs are offline due to WiFi issues.
  • Allow extra time for your commute. Traffic will likely be heavier than normal. Consider taking your lunch and any snacks you may need for the day.
  • Be prepared for WiFi & cell phones to not work properly due to the influx of people into the area.
  • Get groceries, gas, medications, and other necessities before the weekend.
  • Be patient. We anticipate a lot of visitors to our area.
  • Our branches have limited solar eclipse glasses available. First come, first served.

For our business customers:

  • Be sure to get plenty of change before the weekend. It may be difficult to get to the bank on Monday due to the increased traffic.
  • Be prepared for WiFi/cell service to be spotty. This may mean your point-of-sale systems won’t work properly. Have a plan for how you will take payments if you can’t take a credit or debit card.
  • Let your customers know ahead of time if there will be any changes to your hours of operation due to the eclipse.
  • If you can, order any supplies your business may need early and schedule delivery before the weekend.
  • Get gas and any other necessities you or your business may need before the weekend.
  • If you have employees on-site, consider having food and drinks on hand. It may be difficult to get out for lunch or breaks.
