In May, the FNBC Passport Club set out on an overseas adventure of a lifetime to London and Paris.

Our first stop was London – the capital of England and one of the leading cities in the world! After our flight landed in London, we were so excited and ready to explore. We had a wonderful, welcoming dinner waiting on us at Brown’s Restaurant, a popular British chain restaurant. We also spent a night out on the town to see London lit up in the city lights. We later took an evening cruise on
the famous Thames River where we saw the beautiful Big Ben, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, and the unforgettable Tower Bridge. It was so impressive!

The next day, we enjoyed our breakfast, which is always a hearty meal in London, and set off to see the city on motor coach with a step-on local tour guide. We were all-ears as we learned and snapped pictures on our ride. We loved hearing our guide’s British accent! One of our group’s favorite parts of our London trip was
seeing the London Eye, a giant glass-dome Ferris wheel, where we enjoyed champagne and seeing a terrific view of London from the top of the wheel.

Some of our other stops included Windsor Castle and the Cotswolds, which is a beautiful countryside outside of London. You can’t possibly see all of London in just a few days, but we had so much fun with our experiences.

We were sad to leave London, but we were looking forward to going to Paris. Once we were aboard the Eurostar, an undersea, high-speed train that can reach 180 mph, we celebrated our departure to Paris with hot tea. We arrived at our hotel and headed out to the best dinner with wine in Paris at Les Noces de Jeannette. After we ate, we set out on the town to see Paris at night under the lights. Seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night was especially magical and probably the highlight of the trip!

We stayed very busy while we were in Paris, visiting the famous Montmartre, a large area full of shops, restaurants and working artists.  We also went to the Louvre Museum and met eye-to-eye with Mona Lisa, along with her four bodyguards. She is
still the most photographed woman in the world! Our last stop in Paris was the Palace of Versailles, where we saw the popular Hall of Mirrors and the King’s Grand Apartment.

Our adventures were full of fun, and we made memories and friendships that will last forever! We can’t wait to travel again!
