Boyd Carpenter Scholarship

BOYD CARPENTER, $4,000.00 SCHOLARSHIP

The Boyd Carpenter Scholarship, sponsored by First National Banking Company will be awarded to a graduating student from Sharp, Fulton, or Izard County who plans to attend college and seek a 4 year degree. This is the banks 27th year to award the scholarship.

The Board of Directors of First National Banking Company established and began sponsoring this annual scholarship in 1984 to recognize an outstanding student and assist that student toward his/her goal of a college education.

The scholarship will be awarded through a two-phase process. The first phase will place emphasis on academics, extracurricular activities and employment. The second phase will be based upon the applicant’s interview with the judging committee which will be made up of individuals from the different counties in the area.

First National Banking Company will provide $1,000.00 per year for four years or a total of $4,000.00 to the winner. Interested students may obtain an application from their school counselor. The application deadline date is noon, March 25, 2010.
